Tuck Everlasting is a book written by Natalie Babbitt. This book is about 61 pages long so it's a very short book but still very descriptive. Tuck Everlasting is also a movie which came out about 2002.
Tuck Everlasting is about a girl (Winnie) who falls in love with a boy (Jesse) who is immortal. Jesse also develops feelings for Winnie as well. Jesse eventually asks Winnie to become immortal by drinking from the fountain of youth, like him and his family did, when she turns 17. Throughout the book and movie the rest of the family tries to convince her not to drink it because of the way the cycle of life is formed. Each one of them has a different way of telling her that they would rather have the ability to die then live forever.
Even though this book is so short I believe that everyone should read the book. This book talks about life but in a different point of view.

The Christopher Killer
The Chirstopher Killer is written by Alane Ferguson. This book is a murder mystery. This book is a great book once you start reading it you can't put it down you just have keep reading to find out whats going to happen next.
The book is about a girl, named Cameryn, who is a senoir in high school. She is very interested in forensic science and knows a lot about it. Cameryn's father is a coroner. Eventually Cameryn gets her fatherr to agree to let her be his assistant so she can feel for what she wants to go into. Shortly after her dad hires her as his assistant there is a murder in their small town. Later on , they find it was the Christopher Killer. The Christopher Killer will murder his victims and place a St. Christopher medal on their body. As they try to solve the murder Cameryn realizes that if she isn't careful she coculd be the next victim.
I recommend this book who likes mystery books. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone under the age of 14 for the simple fact that they get somewhat discriptive in the book about body and the murder. I thought this was very good and very interesting.

A Child Called It
A Child Called It was written by Dave Pelzer. This book is 184 pages and very descriptive. I would say that this book is for someone that is 14 or older because of the events that happen through his life.
This book is about Dave Pelzer in his childhood. At first he mentions that everything at home was good his mom was happy and everything was grand. Then it started turning bad, his mom was becoming abusive and was only beating him out of all of his sibilings. She would make him do horrible things and if she caught doing something that he wasn't supposed he would end up with a horrible consequence. There were times that she would make him starve, she even made him stick his hand to a hot stove. Eventually, the Department of Social Services were called and went to make sure everything was okay in the house, so when she found out about it she would start being nice to him so he wouldn't tell them anything that she did to him.
When I read this book it was hard to put the book down. I recommend this book to everyone, but I'm sure many of you have already this book. It is very touching and heartbreaking but it's like you have to keep reading to make sure he made it even though you already know he did.

The Forgotten Garden is written by Kate Morton. This book is about 560 pages and has a unique writing style to it. Each chapter that is written flip-flops between two different time periods, a present day time period and then goes back to 1913.
In 1913, a girl who goes by the name Nell, is being shipped with others to America. She is told to stay on the ship and hide until further noice by a lady known as Authoress. Authoress neer returns for her so the captian and his wife decide to raise her as their own child and tell her the truth about her life when Nell turns twenty-one. This where Nell decides to find her true identity but she doesn't find everything out and that is where her granddaughter comes in. Cassandra picks up from where her grandmothere leaves off and finds out the truth about their family history that left untold.
I recommend this book to young-adult to adults. This book is a much more difficult book to follow so it wouldn't be very appropriate for someone younger. I thought the way that she described every situation made it seem so life-like.

13 Reasons Why is written by Jay Asher. His form writing in this is from two different points of views. The first view is from the girl who committed suicide (Hannah) and secind point of view is Clay, the guy who liked Hannah.
Hannah made thirteen different tapes before she committed suicide. Each tape has a reason to why committed suicide. She sent all these tapes to the thirteen people that affected her in one way or another. As each person gets the box of tapes they have to determine why she sent these tapes to them and what they have to do with her suicide.

The Giver
The Giver is written by Lois Lowry. This book is pretty short, it's only 179 pages long. I read this book back when I was in middle school but reading it now, I got a better understanding of it.
This book is about a community that leaves without feelings and withou t differences. The only differences that anybody has is the jobs that they are assigned to. Jonas is a Twelve and is given the job as a Giver. The Giver is the one who experiences all the feelings that the community doesn't feel. It's also the Giver's job to make sure that the community doesn't experience feelings gain any knowledge that they don't have. Jonas now has to make a decision is he going to stay in the community and do what he is assigned to do or is he going to leave and have a life of his own.

Speak
Speak is book you will never forget. It makes you wonder about the other people around you. This book is written by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book has about 200 pages in it. There is also a movie about the book. It follows the book very consistently and doesn't change the order of the events.
The story that is told in this book is about a girl (Melinda) who goes to party with her friends and ends up being raped by one of the guys (Andy) that is there. Melinda panics and calls the cops but she doesn't tell anyone about what happened. Everyone at school turns their back against her and becomes angry with her because she called the cops and busted the party. Later on, the girl (Rachel) that she used to hang out with starts dating Andy. Melinda decides to tell Rachel about really happened that night and she decides to tell her that Andy was the one that did it. At first, Rachel becomes angry with Melinda and tells her that she is just jealous but, eventually Rachel believes Melinda and breaks up Andy. Andy becomes angry with Melinda that she exposed the truth and tries to rape a second time but doesn't succeed.
I really enjoyed the book and the movie. This just goes to show that people tend to judge before they get the facts about something that really happened. I recommend this book to everyone. Even though it wasn't a true story, the story itself made you believe it really happened.

Go Ask Alice
Go Ask Alice is written by an Anonymous author and is about 214 pages long. The format of this book is in a journal form as if you were reading from someones diary. In her diary, Alice talks about her troubles through her teenage years.
Alice is a teenage girl who becomes addicted to extremely dangerous drugs. She doesn't only write about her addiction to new drugs, she speaks about her relationship with her parents, and how she being accepted into different groups of people. One of the main drugs that she talks about a lot is LSD. She mentions how it affected her and later on her struggles as she runs away from home. During time that she runs away from she witnesses different things that her "friends" would do for drugs or to get high. She also realizes that when she home she was safe and that her parents were also there for her. She eventually comes back home and things start to get bettter for her but then things turn against her once again and maybe this time it's for the worst.
I think this book would be great for anyone between 14 and up. Some of the things that she witnesses or talks about can be somewhat graphic. But I think that anyone who reads this book will realize different things about life and how fragile life can really be. I loved this book and hope that if you read it you will enjoy also.

The Secret Garden is written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This book is 234 pages. I don't recommnd this book to young adults or even adults because the ook was more written for younger readers around 10-13 years of age.
This book about a young girl (Mary) who moves to England with her uncle because her parents die. She discovers many things as she begins her new life with her uncle. Mary soon makes friends as she realizes her uncle is hardly around to keep her any company. She meets Martha who is a housemaid, Martha ends up telling about the garden that is locked because of the memories it reminds her uncle. Mary then makes some other friends who help her out with discovering and transforming the garden. To find out what else happens along her journey you must read to find out.

The Notebook
The Notebook is written by Nocholas Sparks. It's about 215 pages long. The book is about a couple's love that grows stronger each day they are togerther. I really enjoyed the book was written, I liked the way it flashed back to when they were younger. I think the book just flowed together and it made want to read more.

The Lovely Bones
Many of you have probably already seen the movie the Lovely Bones. I have read the book and it's not like any other book I have read. Most of the books that I have read stick to one situation, this book has many situations. While Susie watches over her family and her murderer she begins to see how her death has affected them. Her sister is begining to grow up, her father is trying to figure to out her murderer, and her mother is having an affair with the chief of police. Then Mr. Harvey, her murderer, runs off just before the police find out it was him. Do they find out where he ran off to? Will find out about his other murders?
This book was written by Alice Sebold. They book starts out very sickening and disturbing then it continues as she watches her family continue their lives without her. This is 352 pages long and and was published in 2004. I recommend this book to young adults and adults. This book for people that are into drama. Little Women
This book is about a mother is living with four of her daughters while the father is away at war. Each of the daughters has a different personality making all the events interesting to read about. The time era is about the 1880's. So as you read the book it tells you about the struggles of their life as they were growing up and as they got married and started a life of their own.
Also it was transformed into a movie. Just to let you know the movie is pretty long in my opinion. The movie is very good though, it follows the book pretty darn close. I enjoyed both the book and the movie, neither one of them were boring to me they fasinated me. I recommend this for mostly girls simply it's more of a girly book and I don't really think many of you guys out there would find interesting. As far as the movie goes I wouldn't watch it unless you like long movies.

The Last Song
This book is about a rebellious teenager who is going to live with her dad for the summer. The daughter later finds out something about her father that he didn’t mention to her before she came down to his house to live with him. This book was written by Nicholas Sparks, and recently has been made into a movie.
This book is mostly for people who enjoy reading about life situations that happen to families all around us. I would also say that this is more of a chick-flick type of book, so guys if you’re not into stuff like that I don’t recommend this book.
